Dormitories are set up in a single thread. This thread is used by all dormitory members for an entire school year. The thread is posted in the respective dormitory board within the House commonroom.
At the end of the school year the dormitory threads will be moved to an archive board, and new threads will be started for the new year.
To be eligible to join a dormitory you must have a post count of at least 50 posts, and been a member for at least 2 weeks. Once you meet these criteria you should submit an application via the support site.
In your request you should include:
- your preferred dormitory (which is not yet full)
OR
- a preferred room mate
If you select an already existing dormitory, you will be added to that dormitory. If you choose a room mate, they will also need to submit a dormitory request (and meet the requirements). You will both then be paired up and added to an existing dormitory.
To maintain your dormitory you must be an active member. This does not mean that you must post in the dormitory every day, but you should be online regularly and respond in your dormitory if a room mate has posted.
If you find a room mate isn't replying to posts in the dormitory, notify Admin.
Your place in the dormitory may be lost if:
- you haven't been online in the past 2 weeks
- if you don't respond to posts in the dormitory
At the end of the school year you will be given the chance to move dormitories if you wish. Details will be posted in the General Announcements board at the time.
