To Find A Friend Is Always Complicated {Conrad}
« on: April 01, 2012, 09:39:21 PM »
Jesse-Mai was a different sort of kid. He never really understood why. His dad told him, all the time, 'You A Weird Kid, Soldier', but never once explained. Jesse had, his whole life, tried to figure out how he was weird. In this search he noticed a few things. He could never quite fit in with any single group of students. And he'd never really looked around at other kids like his classmates had. They talked about the 'hotties' in class, and he played chess with himself. It was an out-of-the-ordinary habit, but at least he always won.

In this current moment in time, Jesse-Mai found himself pressed against the outside of a door. A classroom that he'd found abandoned ages ago. Jesse usually hung out there, alone as usual. It just made him feel happy. He could be anyone he wanted to be there, and no one cared. No one was around to care. Today, though, he'd just given it up. He'd driven himself up the walls being alone, and here he was again. Doing just that very thing. With a frown he had slipped down the outside of the door, facing the broad stone hallway, watching people pass. Oh, to find a friend. Is it always this complicated?

Conrad slowly walked down the hall, a bit tired from a whole day of classes. These past few days, he'd been running around the whole castle with his new friends, enjoying the popularity his charisma brought. It wasn't the kind of attention that came with being super cool and all, but the kind were most people who knew him thought that he was a great guy. After all, he never said anything negative about anyone, and also the fact that he was nice to everyone (even his enemies) made a lot of kids respect him.

As he approached when of the busiest hallways, he spotted a boy about his own age standing next to an abandoned classroom. He didn't feel pity for him, but wondered why he was all alone. Some folks preferred solitude over the company of others, but Conrad didn't think talking to him would make him feel uncomfortable, so he walked up to him. "Hey, what's going on?" He smiled as the simple question left his lips.

Many people passed by Jesse-Mai as he stood where he was. A few looks at him from the cornerxof their eyes as they walked, but none stopped. None  that was, exceptcone. A young boy, probably his age, with light colured hair. Jesse smiled slightly when the boy stoppee, but didb't speak. "Hey, what's going on?" Came a sweet, innocent voice. Again Jesse smiled.

For a momet he didn't answer. He just regarded the other boy with kind eyes. There was something about him, Jesse just couldn't put his toe upon it. "Nothing impirtant  just another day alone." He spoke with a sadder tone, but his day was broghter now that this boy was here.

It saddened him that people looked towards them and didn't even stop, he even knew a few of them, and made a mental note to talk to them about it later on. When the other boy smiled, Conrad knew that he had done the right thing, and hoped that while being with him other people might approach him as well.

"Nothing impirtant  just another day alone. " With a smile he replied, "Well, not anymore. What's your name?"

The boy smiled at his words. And replied. "Well, not anymore. What's your name?" Came the question. Jesse-Mai smiled again. "Jesse. He said, "And yours?" he continued. It wad nice to have someone to talk with again.

"My name? Conrad, Conrad Varin, trying to be a great friend to everyone, but not always able." He said with a smile as he punched the boy softly in the arm. "And who knows, maybe we could be friends?"

Still he felt alone. Even with this boy standing across from him, talking with him, smiling. Jesse-Mai could feel it crawling through his consciousness. There was something different about this boy, though, because even with the loneliness he felt, he knew that he could be happy just talking here, with this boy. He knew that this boy was meant to find him today, to talk to him. And this thought made him happy. Happy because he wasn't going to be alone forever. Happy because his own bright blue eyes could stare into the light of the other's and know that this could last. Happy that they could smile together, and not care about those around them. Even if that wasn't the case.

"My name? Conrad, Conrad Varin, trying to be a great friend,but no awlasy able." Said the boy, with a playful fist to his arm. Jesse-Mai almost flinched, but he saw older boy's doing it all the time, so instead he just smiled. "I'm sure your a great friend." He commented, not thinking about his words very much. He wasn't known for keeping things in. "And who knows, maybe we could be friends?" Continued the boy. "Sounds like a plan, Conrad." Jesse agreed, glad to have remembered the boy's name.

"Sounds like a plan, Conrad." He chuckled at this, and wondered if Jesse noticed he had just came up with a clever rhyme. "Indeed, so, how are you liking the school?"
