Robert's animagus form was incredibly fitting when it came to Maddie Beckett; anything she asked him to do was a pleasure, and even if it wasn't he'd roll over and do it, just because she'd asked. He'd never think to make the connection, but he really was puppyish over her; as such, he made his way to the Muggle Studies lesson she was teaching in perfect time - if a little early, he supposed - with several basic Muggle Studies textbooks in case any of the students should become stuck and he found himself unable to provide an answer they could use in an exam. He was incredibly frail still, despite treatment from the hospital wing; it was hard to kick a lifetime's habit of undereating, and now that it had gotten worse it was still difficult to make him see that it wasn't good for him to skip breakfast - and every other meal, really - in order to complete some work. He was living off soup and bread; most days, just one sitting of the latter. Naively, he wondered if Maddie might not notice - of course, realistically, she was bound to. He looked dreadful. Pale in a very sickly way and undertaking the odd appearance of being stretched over himself, the difference in Robert was very apparent; he'd never quite looked healthy, but he'd never looked particularly unhealthy, per se; just a bit scrawny. Now, it was a completely different story, and that story was one of malnutrition and the unwillingness to adapt his lifestyle to make it any better. Robert's research had always been the most important thing - even if Maddie was creeping up to share with the top spot, his health certainly wasn't.
Still, even he understood that he was stressed, even if he didn't appreciate how stressed he was physically, and would have, uncertainly, admitted that any method of de-stressing could only be a good thing in a logical conversation. Faced with comfy relaxation mats and very little else, however, he was somewhat confused; surely she wouldn't expect him to be much help in a lesson about physical exercise? Of course, he'd try his best to help her anyway, even if it meant he made an utter fool of himself - even, he admitted to himself sheepishly, if she was doing it to make him look like an utter fool, though he doubted this. He'd have believed on blind faith that she was a lovely person, but after living with her over last summer, he now didn't need to. He knew she was a lovely person, and she even seemed to like him, against all odds - not like, but at least... like. To him, at least, it made sense. She wouldn't do anything like that, anyway. He approached her in his confusion, books gathered awkwardly in his arms as though they seemed to want to escape from the stereotype that held them, and eventually put said load down as he greeted her, though he had some difficulty with bending down to set them on a surface. "Hello, Maddie..." he looked around the classroom once more before looking back at her, bemused smile appearing ever-so-slightly on his face, which was somewhat too weak to express much emotion at the moment. "What's all this, then?" His Scottish accent had faded over time - partially due to his efforts to try and make it easier for her, specifically, to understand him - but it was still evident, and it appeared quite obviously in this last statement. He hoped it wasn't annoying to her; he knew that some people disliked it.
